Minecraft Mod: Alternate CurrentSpaceWalkerRS
Alternate Current is an efficient and non-locational redstone dust implementation for Minecraft. It focuses on reducing lag caused by redstone dust by optimizing power calculations and minimizing shape and block updates emitted. This results in predictable and intuitive block update orders for redstone dust networks.

Performance:
With Alternate Current, the MSPT contributions of redstone dust can be up to 20 times lower compared to Vanilla redstone dust. Despite this improvement, it maintains a high level of Vanilla parity. The mod is minimally invasive and can easily replace Vanilla redstone dust with low code modifications.

Why is redstone dust laggy?
Redstone dust is laggy due to unnecessary updates and calculations caused by recursive updating. Redstone wire can repeatedly update its power level before settling on a final value, resulting in costly calculations and excessive shape and block updates. Many of these updates are redundant.

How does Alternate Current fix this?
Alternate Current addresses these issues by calculating the power of the entire network before updating power levels. Wires check power from non-wire components once and power from other wires twice. The mod identifies power sources within the network and efficiently spreads power from there. This approach reduces redundancy in updates, emits shape and block updates only when the final power level is reached, and improves the update order for a more intuitive experience.
