Requirements:

Better Foliage requires Java 8 or later.

For Forge 1.10 and 1.12, Forgelin is required.

For Forge 1.14, Kottle and MixinBootstrap are required.

For Forge 1.15, Kottle and Forge 31.2.44+ are required.

For Forge 1.16, Kotlin For Forge is needed.

For Forge 1.14 and above, Cloth Config is needed for the config GUI (optional).

For Fabric, Fabric API and Fabric Language Kotlin are required.

About:

Better Foliage is a mod that enhances the appearance of vegetation in Minecraft worlds, making them more visually appealing. It is designed to work alongside other visual enhancement mods, such as Optifine and Shaders Mod.

The mod is purely cosmetic and client-side, meaning it does not affect the server and the features added by Better Foliage cannot be interacted with.

Compatibility:

Currently, Better Foliage is not compatible with Sodium and is only compatible with Optifine under Forge. Resolving these compatibility issues is part of the long-term roadmap for the mod.

You can access the mod’s configuration GUI from your mod list, which is accessible from the main menu. When using Forge with Minecraft 1.14 or higher, Cloth Config is necessary for this. For Fabric, Cloth Config comes bundled with the mod.

Versions:

Since Minecraft 1.14, Better Foliage is available in both Forge and Fabric versions. To simplify downloads, they are labeled differently: Forge as Release and Fabric as Beta.
