Minecraft Mod: Better FPS – Render Distance [Forge] – someaddon
Better FPS Render Distance is a mod that offers several performance enhancements to boost fps in Minecraft.
This version of Better Render Distances is designed for Forge. For the Fabric version, please click here.
Render distance:
By default, Minecraft renders everything within a square radius (cylinder in 1.18). This mod changes it to a 3D circular radius that can be stretched horizontally through configuration or video options. Increasing the stretch reduces the rendering of caves underneath you, especially distant ones. This results in about a 10-35% reduction in chunk sections to be rendered, providing a significant fps boost.
Requires Cupboard dependency to be installed in newer versions.
Introduces an option to stretch the circular render distance horizontally, creating an ellipsis instead of a circle. Increasing this setting will render fewer chunk parts lower/higher than your current position. To visualize this, stand atop a tall mountain or fly up and set it to the maximum of 10.
Visual example for render distances:
Not compatible with the Very Many Players (VMP) mod.
Only necessary on the client-side; ineffective on the server-side.
