Minecraft Mod: Chunk AnimatorLumien231

When new chunks are loaded in vanilla Minecraft, they typically “appear instantly.” However, with the Chunk AnimatorLumien231 mod, these chunks can now be animated to enter the world from either above or below. This mod adds a unique visual effect to the game without significantly impacting the FPS, as it simply alters the rendering of chunks during loading.

Usage

After installing the mod, it defaults to mode 0, causing chunks to animate from below. Through the config file, players can choose from 5 modes and adjust the animation duration. Additionally, there is an option to prevent chunks near the player from animating.

Players can customize the animation further by selecting different easing functions. A variety of options are available, and more information on configuring these animations can be found on the config page.

On versions 1.12.2 and older, the mod integrates with Forge’s config menu, allowing for in-game adjustments to modes and animation settings.

OptiFine Compatibility

While OptiFine is supported, on versions 1.14.4 and above, players need to ensure that the “render regions” option is disabled for chunk animations to function correctly. This setting can be located under the Performance tab in Video Settings.

Media and Licensing

Previous demonstrations by Lumien for this mod have been removed, with new content on the way. The mod’s creator grants permission for unrestricted use of this mod in any mod pack or server. While attribution is appreciated, it is not a requirement.

Fabric Equivalent

For players utilizing Fabric on version 1.16, a similar mod called Smooth Chunks is available. Please refrain from requesting Fabric support for Chunk AnimatorLumien231.
