This mod enhances interactions between various mods by taking advantage of Forge’s new capability system. It doesn’t introduce new content but enhances existing interactions. Common Capabilities aims to offer standard capabilities that multiple mods can benefit from without interdependency.
The main goal is to standardize useful capabilities for different mods without them relying on each other. Originally a part of Integrated Dynamics, it was separated into a standalone mod to benefit other mods that could leverage these capabilities.
The mod provides several capabilities to specific mods, such as:
- Worker – Indicates if a machine can work and has work. Applicable to several mods across different Minecraft versions.
- Temperature – Used for entities that can have specific temperatures in various Minecraft mods.
- Recipe Handler – Exposes machine recipes for crafting purposes in supported mods.
- Wrench – Enables wrenching capabilities for items in specific mods.
- Item Handler – Expands item inventories of blocks, items, and entities in certain mods.
Additionally, the mod enables capability delegation and provides default implementations for various mods. It also allows for configuration to disable specific interactions. Anonymized startup data collection is included but can be disabled and respects Minecraft’s snooper settings.
