Minecraft Mod: Embeddium/Rubidium Dynamic Lights
Discover the unofficial Forge port of LambDynamicLights, optimized to seamlessly function with Magnesium or Rubidium (Forge Sodium). For an enhanced experience, it is recommended to also acquire Magnesium/Rubidium Extras. While this mod operates independently, Magnesium Extras resolves a performance bug within Forge.
Unlike alternative dynamic lighting mods, LambDynamicLights offers compatibility with Sodium (Lucent) and bypasses the issue of excessive lag present in some counterparts (“Dynamic Lights”). By inserting a straightforward layer into Minecraft’s natural chunk lighting framework, this mod maintains synergy with various other mods.
This version includes integrations with Sodium’s configuration settings, positioning the Dynamic Lights options under the “Experimental” tab. Adjustment of these settings will synchronize with the primary configuration file, dynamic_lights_reforged.toml. In terms of features, this Forge port matches the Fabric mod (and is technically enhanced through the inclusion of select optimizations), albeit solely available on 1.16 currently. For future progression, a port to 1.18 is anticipated once it is deemed more conducive for modding.
While Magnesium is not a necessity for the mod’s operation—functioning correctly without it—its presence is listed as a dependency on Curse due to the redundant nature of running the mod devoid of Magnesium. Especially since OptiFine already provides a similar dynamic lighting feature, it is advisable to incorporate either of these tools when engaging with modded Minecraft experiences.
