The Minecraft Mod: Paxi (Fabric)YUNGNICKYOUNG

In the realm of Minecraft mods, Paxi is a standout tool for the seamless incorporation of global, automatic data and resource packs.

Typically, loading data packs for each world can be a tedious process. Paxi streamlines this by introducing the paxi folder within your Minecraft config directory. Here, you can house data and resource packs that will effortlessly apply to every world you enter. When Paxi is initiated for the first time, the paxi folder is automatically established in your Minecraft config path.

Keeping things straightforward, Paxi excels at universal data and resource pack management, catering specifically to the needs of modpack creators.

Within the paxi folder, you’ll find a subfolder named datapacks dedicated to data packs. This folder materializes when you create or load a world with Paxi installed. Any data packs stored within this folder will be universally loaded across all your gameplay experiences. To view the loaded data packs in-game, simply use /datapack list; those loaded by Paxi are clearly marked in pink. Both zip files and conventional folders containing a pack.mcmeta file are supported.

Moreover, data packs can be prioritized in a specific order. The file datapack_load_order.json is generated in the paxi directory upon initializing Paxi. You can populate this JSON file with a list of data pack folder names, ensuring the sequential loading of your data packs. This feature is optional, meaning any packs not listed will load alphabetically by default. Thus, if only a few data packs require a unique load order, simply list them in the JSON!

Not to be overlooked, the paxi folder also accommodates a resourcepacks subfolder for resource packs. Similarly to data packs, any resource packs stored here will automatically load upon launching the game. Both zip files and standard folders with a pack.mcmeta file are compatible. It’s important to note that resource packs aren’t compatible with dedicated servers as they solely influence client-side aspects such as textures, sounds, and other visual assets.

In the most recent iterations catered to versions 1.18.2 and 1.19.2, resource packs can be arranged in a preferred order as well. Upon launching the game with Paxi installed, the resourcepack_load_order.json file will be produced in the paxi directory. By populating this JSON file with the names of resource pack folders, you can dictate the loading sequence of resource packs. This feature is also voluntary, allowing unlisted resource packs to load in an alphabetical order as the default. Should you require specific loading sequences for a handful of resource packs, simply enlist them in the JSON!
